Flood of people on roads and streets results in traffic halts all over the city after the iftar on daily basis. In bigger cities, vehicles assembling long queues are usually a total pack-up situation at nights. Markets like Mall road, Anarkali bazar, Liberty market, Gulberg Main market, Ichara and other lavish markets in DHA and other parts of Lahore, shopping malls like Pace, Panorama, Siddique Shopping Centre, Xinhua mall, Aurega Centre and alike are drawing the public out. Where as in Twin cities, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, People are showing their ‘generosity’ to the shop keepers of Jinnah Super Market, F-10 markaz, Super Market (F-8 Markaz), Aabpara and alike. People of Karachi are a bit hesitant to shop around due to current circumstances in the city; nevertheless people are trying to make their Eid day remarkable and Tariq Road, Zainab Market, Khadda Market, Hyderi Market and others are witnesses of this fact.
Latest price-hike is making shopping a strenuous and challenging task. Children can be seen demanding their parents to buy for them the latest fashion outfits and apparels. Parents find it as a monetary sacrifice, if not a restraint, in making their children cheery and pleased.
People are delaying the purchase of necessary home items and equipments just in order to make some financial room for the Eid expense. Traders are business folks are often found saying that all other businesses except Eid shopping has become almost irrelevant especially in the last ten days of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak.

A salesman at a ready-to-wear clothes outlet said the days were getting busier as the Eid shopping gained impetus. There is an unprecedented surge in shopping. Eid extravaganza has started quite early this year.
Mehndi kiosks can be seen occupied by Girls who are willing to get latest Henna imprints on their hands. Bangle-Business is also touching its peak. Owing to the Gold price rise people are trying to get artificial jewelry and other charms which are just about replacing the beauty standards set by Gold jewelry. A girl said that she has visited market to buy bangles and observed that bangles stalls are very few and the prices are not affordable.

Men fashion stores can be seen over loaded almost any time throughout after iftar. Because of unaffordability, there is much of a window shopping scene most of the time said many street-walkers in Liberty market Lahore. Shopkeepers have raised the prices to give ‘Eid-gifts’ to the public, said a shopper in a busy shopping spot in Islamabad.
Additional police officers have been given duties to protect the cities in this Eid scenario. They can be seen patrolling the streets of Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad markets for the security of shoppers as incidents of purse snatching and theft have been reported. Muhafiz force and anti-terrorist squad have also been deployed at the busy spots.
